Those of you who are overwhelmed by the idea of drawing flowers should know that drawing a flower is not such a difficult task because
all the resources are so easily available in nature. All you have to do is simply pick a flower of your choice to go ahead and start drawing it.

Steps Involved

Every piece of art starts with the basics. A blank paper, a 2H and HB pencil, an eraser and a sharpener are the basic materials that are required when drawing flowers. For colors to fill in the flowers, oil pastels, crayons, or watercolors are a good choice. If you use watercolors you will also require paint brushes to fill them in.Also keep with you a rag to clean up after you are done. Let's now take a look at how to draw flowers step-by-step.

Wanting to draw a flower starts with first deciding which flower you want to draw. You could start with something simple such as a teardrop flower.
Keep a flower or any flower picture of your choice before you. If you notice it closely, every flower has a basic shape. Using the 2H pencil and very little pressure,
Start recreating that basic shape on paper.
Move ahead by determining the details of the flower. Like the entire flower, every flower petal is also defined by a shape. Start making those shapes within the outline of the flower that you have created.

The stem is the easiest part of a flower to draw, and can be done in one go.
Use a darker pencil now to finish the flower. Highlight the petals, and the details of each petal with the darker pencil.
Highlight only the necessary portions and if possible erase the guidelines you have made to draw the flower. Mark the folds, creases and veins of the flowers,
and use the pencil to create shadow effects (for instance, around overlapping petals). All these shading and rendering techniques will give the flower
a three-dimensional look even on a two dimensional surface.

If you want to use a colorful medium to bring your flower drawings to life, then follow the previous step by means of the medium you choose.
For instance, if you are choosing color pencils as your medium, then utilize greater pressure on areas that need to be highlighted,
and lesser pressure in areas that are to remain in the backdrop. A similar effect can be achieved by using crayons or oil pastels.
You may try watercolor painting as a medium but for it to be effective you will have to perform several attempts.
Shading with watercolors is slightly difficult as they dry very easily.

Simple, wasn't it? The art of drawing flowers can be mastered over time with practice. With each attempt you will find your flower drawings
looking better and more realistic. As such, you will finally be able to recreate the beauty of this offering of nature perfectly on your canvas.
In fact, as you get better at drawing flowers, you can even try your hand at different media of painting such as oil painting on canvas of various  sizes. Such pictures add to the beauty of any space they are placed in.

Learning how to draw a simple cartoon flower like the one in this lesson is as easy as "one, two, three"... minus the three!

A lot of the time, when it comes to drawing cartoons - it's the most simplest of drawings that have the most profound effect. For example, logos! When it comes to creating logos, simple cartoonish images get the job done just fine.

Besides, it's nice every now and then to be able to draw something that doesn't take very long to draw and still looks pretty good when it's all done... something like this cartoon flower to the right!

Surely, this little flower could do wonders in a number of different situations... a card, a background, a painting, a decoration... and the list goes on. Change it a little by switching up the color and size of the petals and the possibilities are endless!

Let's begin...

First Step - Draw the Petals

OK, on the paper in front of you, go ahead and draw a near-perfect-looking circle. I say "near" because no, it doesn't have to be perfect! Do try to make it a circle though...

Actually, if you have a protractor or compass, great. If not, try the bottom of a pop can or the lid of a container.

With your first circle drawn, just like the numbers on a clock - work your way around it drawing five more circles... each one a new petal for your cartoon flower.
Note: it may take a couple times to get it just right. The idea is that you want each outer circle overlapping the middle one ever so slightly. Not too much overlapping though, or else the petals themselves will over lap and it won't look as good in the end. Take your time the first time around.

Second Step - Stem & Leaves

Alright, the second step is here, and yes - it's also the final step! Yup, I really meant it when I said "very simple!"

The stem is first in this second and final step, and all it really is - is a straight line. I of course made mine a tad different... you can see a bit of a curve in the stem on the right. Still simple!

Once the stem is in place, draw in a couple of leaves. To do this, draw a couple of "pointed ovals," or even more descriptively... "cat eyes". See them?

Feel free to position the leaves wherever you want along the stem. Add more or less. Add none if you like! Up to you.
So there you have it... very simple indeed. Where to go from here? Well, as usual - I recommend some color. And if you draw a whole bunch (a bouquet perhaps?), then go all out with an assortment of different colors!

Congratulations... you now know how to draw a very simple cartoon flower! :-)

Lotus Flower Drawings  Biography

Source(google.com.pk)

Creating a lotus flower drawing like the one you see on the right is actually a pretty simple task. The key to its simplicity is symmetry.

Just like some of the other lessons on the site, drawing a lotus flower is easier when you ensure that left is equal to right. Using a center line really comes in handy. Basically, follow each step in the exact order and you really can't go wrong!

Before we continue, did you know that the lotus flower is thought by many to be the most beautiful flower in the world? It's often associated with words like beauty, purity and elegance.

Work your way through this lesson and pretty soon you'll have a beautiful, elegant lotus flower drawing of your very own!

First Step - Lotus Flower Center

First, make a dot to become the central point of your lotus flower. I recommend you do this near the lower middle of the page.

Keep the dot very light. I only make this one bright green so that you can see it clearly in the lesson. Make sure that all of your original lines are nice and light so you can erase them later on.

Now, from the dot, draw the same six lines extending outwards just like I have. These lines become the stem and the petals of your lotus flower.

I recommend you start with the central petal. Draw it symmetrically. Then, move on to the right and left petals which are actually at the same level as the center one.

It's not completely necessary at this point, but do go ahead and add a stem if you like. You may want yours to be floating instead of standing, so it's up to

Second Step - Two More Petals

Beginning at the central dot once again, draw two curved lines with your pencil. These are the guidelines for the second layer of petals.

From this point on, things can get a little bit tedious. It's not really difficult, but just that with every new petal, you'll also be drawing a new line. Soon, you'll have many lines to work with, so be sure to keep things symmetrical and do take your time! :-)

With each new petal, you're actually drawing less and less because each new layer is slightly hidden by the one beneath and in front of it.

Alright, got your second layer of petals finished? Excellent. Let's move on...

Third Step - Sequentially Draw the Petals of Your Lotus Flower

Well, now that you're well on your way with your lotus flower drawing, the next step is to continue its development by drawing in the remaining layers of petals. Like this...

Lotus Flower Drawing Third Step Lotus Flower Drawing Third Step Lotus Flower Drawing Third Step

By carefully mapping out each guideline with each new petal, your lotus flower drawing will come together nicely. Even though it looks like things are getting more difficult because of all of the lines that you must draw, it's actually getting easier because you draw less and less of each petal as you move up the flower to the next layer.

And once you've finalized that very last layer of petals... you're done!

Final Step - Your Lotus Flower Revealed!

Once you reach the final layer of petals as you did above, all that remains is to finalize the outline of your flower. So, get out your eraser and get rid of all of the unwanted underlying lines.

After this, go ahead and spice up your drawing to make it extra special and uniquely yours. Lotus flowers are not always purple. It's also common to see white ones. So go ahead and add some color as you see fit.

Another thing too... you can draw your lotus flower so that it's floating on the water if you like. If so, erase the stem and draw in the water around it.

Whatever you decide, in the end you've got a beautiful lotus flower drawing - as pure and elegant as they are known to be! Here's to some very nice work indeed!

Simple Flower Drawings Biography

Source(google.com.pk)
Beatrix Potter was a writer, illustrator and conservationist. She is best remembered for her best-selling childrens books, such as, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Stories that combined her love for both animals and the English countryside. In her later life, she bought a substantial amount of land in the Lake District and on her death donated it to the National Trust, helping to preserve a significant part of the Lake District national park.

Short bio Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter (28 July 1866 – 22 December 1943)

beatrix-potter-childBeatrix was born in Kensington, London to middle-class, Unitarian parents. Her father, Robert was a distinguished lawyer, and her mother the daughter of a wealthy merchant. Her parents were also artistic and this artistic talent was passed on to Beatrix.

She spent much of her early life in her own company; she rarely saw her brother Ewan, who was sent to boarding school. Having little social contact with children of her own age, Beatrix began to be drawn into her own world of creating her own stories, based on animals. Beatrix was a naturally gifted artist, and with some art lessons she also learnt the technical side of drawing. She later wrote:

“Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality.”

potterDuring her childhood, and especially in the Lake District, she looked after many animals, such as; rabbits, frogs, and even bats. She drew these animals throughout her childhood, gradually improving the standard of her drawings. Beatrix was also interested in natural history; she would spend many hours drawing wildlife such as fungi and flowers. At one time she had aspirations to develop this scientific interest professionally. An uncle tried to help her become a student at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, but she was rejected because of her gender. Nevertheless, she later became respected for her contribution to mycology - the study of fungi.

In her early 20s, Beatrix’s parents tried to arrange a suitable partner for Beatrix to marry. Many suitable suitors were found, however for each prospective marriage partnership Beatrix turned them down. She was a fiercely independent woman, and she disliked the idea of being tied down to an uneventful domestic life of staying at home and bringing up children. Thus, unusually for the late Victorian time period, Beatrix remained single and stayed at home.

Publication of Peter Rabbit Books

In her 20s that she sought to try and get her children’s book and drawings published. Her initial attempts proved unsuccessful, but she persevered and eventually it was taken on by Frederick Warne & Company. The first book was published in 1902, when Beatrix was 36. The publishers did not have much hope it would sell many copies; they actually gave the project to their youngest brother, Norman, as a kind of test for his first project. However, Norman proved to be a good choice. He warmed to both the book and Beatrix. He was determined to make a success of the book and developed a good working relationship with Beatrix as they pored over the individual details of the book. It was Norman who insisted that each drawing of Peter Rabbit would be in colour. Beatrix insisted that the book remain small, so that it would be easy for children to hold. By the end of the year, 28,000 copies were in print.

Beatrix also had a good business sense. As early as 1903, she patented a Peter Rabbit doll. These spin offs provided a good source of additional income, enabling her to become wealthy.

Relationship with Norman Warne

The relationship between Norman and Beatrix blossomed, and eventually they became engaged in 1906. However, Beatrix’s parents disapproved. They felt it wrong for Beatrix to marry a tradesman. However, they eventually relented, but insisted Beatrix live apart for 6 months; giving her time to change her mind. Tragically, before the wedding could take place, Norman passed away, dying of pernicious anaemia. Beatrix was devastated, she wrote a letter to his sister, Millie, saying; "He did not live long, but he fulfilled a useful happy life. I must try to make a fresh beginning next year."

After his death, Beatrix moved to the Lakeland. In 1905, she bought Hill Top farm, in Sawry, Cumbria. She lived here for the remainder of her life. Due to failing eyesight, Beatrix later stopped writing her children books; instead, she devoted her time to the breading of sheep and helping the conservation of Lakeland farms. She was particularly interested in the breeding and raising of local Herdwick sheep, and she became one of the major Herdwick sheep farmers of the area. She felt very much as home in the local agricultural shows:

I hate publicity, and I have contrived to survive to be an old woman without it, except in the homey atmosphere of Agricultural Shows. [1939 interview]

beatrix-potter-husband

Beatrix Potter with William Heelis

She married William Heelis in 1913, when she was 47. The couple were childless, though Beatrix played an active role in William's extended family, such as his many nieces of his brothers and sisters. In this later period, her writing tailed off. She only wrote and drew a small quantity, mostly for her own interest. Her life was taken up with farming, conservation and looking after her family.

Due to proceeds from her very successful books and later her inheritance, Beatrix was able to buy many working farms. On her death she left over 4,000 acres to the National Trust. It is one of the biggest legacy’s ever made.

Potter wrote 23 books. Some of her best know titles include:
